Tutorial: do huge features really fast and easyA Journal „tutorial“ aka „save time and make your dA life easier“.
I just couldn't watch my fellow deviants doing the features the most tiring and time consuming ways anymore, while there is much simpler and really fast way of dealing with big features, as big as the Journal limit allows if necessary, and I will share how. It's up to you if you wanna start using it too.
It's really nothing special, just an incredibly useful method I figured along the way, through my long featuring „career“. Also, maybe it will give motivation to more people to start making features, small or big, and help support their favorite artists, artists who deserve much more recognition and feedback, introduce unknown great artists and their art they found to others, etc.
The „tutorial“ is divided in 2 parts:

My name is Simoné... and I'm addicted to deviantART.

I'm 29 years old, married, from South Africa, and own an alternative nightclub. I haven't thought this much about myself since pondering my Halloween outfit two years ago and sincerely hope I don't bore you to tears.

Do you remember when you started drawing? Did something or someone in particular inspire you to pick up your pencils?
"I started like every other kid.

With colouring books, but I was fortunate enough to have a colouring buddy. My mom used to draw with me and she had a way of making a masterpiece of the simplest drawings. It was a case of 'monkey see, monkey do' - I just copied her style and never stopped drawing. I now draw the same way I did then, by watching and learning from other artists."

Fake art - why care and what to look forI posted this last week for anyone looking for help to spot fake art. This is not law, if you don't care, feel free to move on. But if you do care that there are fakers out there, then maybe this could be of some use to you too. We have a serial faker on the loose on dA today so it sparked this little lot once more.
So, the questions/scenarios asked are always the same and the responses/justifications are always the same, but give them a minute to sink in before replying and insulting.
(Q1) Why do you care if someone is cheating what does it have to do with you?
(A1) Well, this is a public ART site and if people are submitting art that is not actually what they claim it to be, then they are dishonest. This will annoy some people and not others. If your passionate about your work then the chances are you'll find it insulting to the artistic community as a whole. Additionally, a lot of admins of groups HAVE to deal with fakes as a daily occure

Okay at least some of you have probably noticed that I've chosen artwork created by folks that I consider to be my friends... people I look up to and admire for their talents and various styles in which they create these wonderful works of art. When I'm down and need inspiration all I need do is look at the amazing artwork all around me here on DA!

Finals are coming up soon. I have 3 cumulative finals, 3 papers, 1 that tests on the 2nd half of the semester (so 2nd midterm?

), and 1 online test.

Why I signed up for 8 classes is beyond me.

Good part is, I'll be done with my bachelors degree in August (1 year early).

Anyways, I really have to start studying so I won’t log on to dA for a few weeks. Every time I log on, I'm like "30 minutes only" then I spend a few hours on here. I'm on Thanksgiving break right now, so I might be logging on a few times in the next couple of days but after that I won't log on again until December 16th. Not sure if I'll be able to handle life without dA.

I also decided to do a giant feature. I figured if my profile page is going to remain the same for the next few weeks then it might as well serve a purpose so here’s some amazing art for you to look at and fav!

WIPs on tumblr!

Been thinking for months about uploading WIPs, pros and cons of it and where to upload them. I've been asked and I know many people like to see WIPs, so maybe it could give me that little push to not to procrastinate so much and finish my drawings faster, but that's pretty much it. Don't want my gallery/scraps flooded with them, I like to keep the element of surprise for my watchers, what if something goes wrong? + I'm not that comfortable showing something in progress.

In the end, I went for tumblr, to see what's all this fuss about it and as a place to upload WIPs. Sometimes. Without particular consistency or order. Whenever I manage to beat my hate for scanning the same piece more than once. Tumblrers can follow me and the rest will be given links to WIPs in the description after I upload the finished drawing on dA, or can bookmark my tumblr.

Uh, I made a tumblr acc a few weeks ago too, BUT I totally didn't understood it. As I couldn't find out how I change my avatar/icon I gave it up after 2 hours. But maybe I should give it another try, because I want to know what's so special on it.

Nothing really special, but you can get your daily dose of laugh and giggling there with all this silly and hilarious gifs, pictures with funny text on them, art, all kinds of amusing, funny, interesting stuff related to all kinds of things, especially to various TV shows, actors and things people obsess about

Fan bases are very strong there, you just gotta find people who like what you like. I would have definitely erased my tumblr if it wasn't for this.

Okay, that's a good option enough. But if you're so worried about the "surprise" thing, you can always update wips after updating the completed drawing ^^'. Some guys do that, actually.

Well, what's the difference, seeing them on dA later or being linked to them? I see none important. Also, god forbid my WIPs get more feedback than the finished piece, saw cases like that with other people's art and definitely wouldn't like that.
