Traditional Art Favorites of 2011!
Another year is over and it's time for my annual art feature of works submitted in 2011!
This is both my favorite and the most difficult art feature to make. After going through thousands and thousands of works you can imagine how hard it was to pick just some.
Artworks were chosen by different combination of the following "criteria":
general impression • emotion conveying • meaning of the artwork • pure awesomeness • idea/concept • originality • complexity • technique • quality • subject • incredible realism • great style • everything else I forgot to write

THEME
An artwork of your animal friend
By an animal friend, I mean your own pet, but it can also be your family pet, family dog for example, as well as some animal you're closely connected to and love very much, like that one special horse of your granddad's you made friends with and love to ride.
Does my animal friend have to be..uhm...alive?
No. I even encourage making an artwork of an animal you loved very much, but unfortunately is no longer with you, for whichever reason. Always wanted to draw your dog you spent so many wonderful years together? Now's a good time.

Tutorial: do huge features really fast and easyA Journal „tutorial“ aka „save time and make your dA life easier“.
I just couldn't watch my fellow deviants doing the features the most tiring and time consuming ways anymore, while there is much simpler and really fast way of dealing with big features, as big as the Journal limit allows if necessary, and I will share how. It's up to you if you wanna start using it too.
It's really nothing special, just an incredibly useful method I figured along the way, through my long featuring „career“. Also, maybe it will give motivation to more people to start making features, small or big, and help support their favorite artists, artists who deserve much more recognition and feedback, introduce unknown great artists and their art they found to others, etc.
The „tutorial“ is divided in 2 parts:
1. Featuring artwork collected though Polls/Journals made especially for that
2. Featuring artwork from your Favorites

First, the results of that "Watchers Feature!" test some of you helped with: after 2 weeks there's still less Favs than people featured on the latest one http://diamond4girl.deviantart.com/journal/WATCHERS-FEATURE-pt-23-318773207 , but nonetheless, with some more Favs than usual, the feature ended up in the Footer for about a day and half and your works have been seen by 3-4 times more people than usual. (1100+ on the latest one vs. >400 views on the few previous ones). Thank you all who helped with the test.

I consider my theory relatively proved, so it's up to you what you do in the future. Btw, glad some of you finally figured out you can fav Journals!

Happy New Year!

WATCHERS FEATURE! is a monthly news article featuring artworks of the watchers
who commented with a thumb of one( or sometimes more) of their artworks on the
poll I submit every month giving all my watchers equal chance to get featured. I'm
doing this as a small sign of gratitude for all the support, faves, comments etc.

Dead-birthLet water burn the sky and melt down the sun;
may muffled screams cry, and ever onwards run.
Please give me a sign so I'll know when I've gone,
'cause you know that I'd lie as I am undone
and you know that I'll die just as it's begun.

A world of her ownShe's that girl.
She's the girl who.
She's the girl who falls over her own feet.
She's the girl who'll build her own world out of words when she's bored.
She'll live in her word world, immersing herself in it until she can't find a way out.
Starting to talk in prose
Treating every conversation like a story about to begin.
And she's lonely.
The girl who's so lost in her words the words are taking over. When the words are starting to push her friends out. Where she fights back, but the words won't oblige.
When she finally manages to push the words back into it's corner, she's sad. For an absence of words in her world
