Uni Doodle by Wicked-Illusion Uni Doodle by Wicked-Illusion
Uni doodle, drawn during the lectures over a few months because I’m a very serious student of Business Economics. After realizing I scribbled for like 5h only this Wednesday (and God knows how many more before) and because the notebook paper's in even worse condition now, I decided to call it done. Some of you maybe saw a WIP of it on my tumblr or FB. Ignore the shiny parts and crappy presentation. :D

It’s my first drawing in this medium, (black) ball point pen, with many rough parts (look at this pretty, polished background etc. ), with not too much detail etc. but it was a nice test to see how I’m handling this medium to maybe do a serious, really detailed drawing on more appropriate paper sometime in the future.

Tools Used:
:liquisoft: A5 notebook paper
:liquisoft: Pilot black ball point pen
:liquisoft: ref

You can really guess this is me? Even when it's ball point pen? :D Thanks! (btw, we've noticed you've been quiet lately, just busy with stuff or? Hope everything's fine?)

I can't believe you just drew this in class. I'm limited to stick figures there.

You say it's not detailed, but I think it is! I can see a lot of the individual hairs in its fur. Nice sketch!

I am too, usually some eyes and shapes and sh*t, but the pic on the notebook was nice and gave me idea to try something that will go real slow and past me time :D Thanks!

I like it a lot!
I'm doing a test soon on that hardboard canvas stuff. I want to see what mediums work best on it so I'm gonna divide it into pieces and try them all at once. I'm sure it will be a mess but it's gonna be fun! :evillaugh:

Ok. Let me start off by saying... I completely understand where you are coming from. You have no idea how many times I've felt this way about my work "oh this is just scrap, doodles. Whatever.) Ends up being some of my best work. I don't see it at first. But looking back, I'm like, "WHAT THE FUCK WAS I THINKING?!" And now seeing this from the outside... my reaction is: [link] YOU ARE INSANE! "SCRAPS... with many rough parts... not too much detail..." ?!?! [link]

LMAO! Embrace the HUMAN aspect of yourself! You are not a printer! It's good! Don't under estimate ANYTHING you do! EVEN YOUR "ROUGH SCRAPS" (seriously... took me 5 minutes to types the words 'ROUGH SCRAPS' ... this is so far from... I can't I just...) [link]

I want to grab you and just SHAKE YOU! LOOSEN UP! :woohoo:

(you are so incredibly talented! Never use those words when referring to your work again!)  :lmao: ;)

PS: the links provided in the above piece are CRUCIAL to my argument! They're ANIMATED GIFS of my reactions! Completely G rated. BUT CRUCIAL! CLICK THEM! Now I sound suspicious... Just trust me :saddummy:

Oh and remember, NO ONE will ever see your artwork exactly the same way you do. :#1:

 Hhahah I know these gifs :D In this case you should loosen up, my description was just to make sure you know this is not the best I could do with this medium and that it was just a test drawn during uni lectures on inappropriate paper and thus drawn in much less detail and quality than it would if I was doing it for "real". People might like this drawing, but I don't consider it 'real' drawing but nothing serious, scribble, doodle at most - it doesn't matter how good/bad it looks or how much time I spent on it.

For example, if I meant this to be a 'serious' drawing, drew it on proper paper and it turned out like this, I wouldn't have called it a doodle. Otherwise I would have called half my gallery of not enough detailed, so-so, etc. drawings I'm not happy with, don't like a doodle. :D

And last, this is not your fault, because most people do it, but in general, it really bothers me when people act like I don't have a right to have an opinion about my own work, feel about it the way I do because it's not what they think about it too. It's, like, great, I'm really happy you think X work is masterpiece and perfect, but I think it's __ and __ and __, will you stop trying to convince me otherwise, like that will change what I think. People bitched about my descriptions for so many times already that now I barely write anything at all because if I do they won't leave me alone and have to have countless discussions about what I wrote in description :D - sure, my descriptions are still long(er), but there's usually a very little about the work itself, more about subject and everything else. It really sucks when you can't write all what you want because then you can't have piece, you "mustn't" write anything negative about your work blahblah and even worse, some people might think you're fishing for compliments or something :/

Thank you very much for taking a time to comment, especially write something longer than 1-2 words, much appreciated!

You are most welcome. And I totally understand. Of course you should be able to feel the way you feel about your own drawings. And I know no matter what anyone says, you will still think the way you want to think. I just tend to be a little over dramatic and always feel the need to say what's on my mind :XD: Usually gets me into trouble and I'm used the repercussions, LOL! I just wanted to make sure you weren't discounting yourself and your work. It was meant to be an encouraging comment and not as an annoyance :XD: But again, when it comes to artwork, it's usually going to get somewhat emotional so... Just comes with the territory.

But, yeah, I really think my comment was more of me realizing stuff about my own work. Your piece and description gave me (as Oprah would say) an "AH-HA moment". I am finally starting to see what some people have been seeing and saying about my work. So I understand where you're annoyance is coming from more than you know (however I probably haven't gotten it as much as you have).

Just don't let people like me stop you from writing what you want about your artwork! Go all out! LET IT OUT! Fuck what people say! Just ignore the comments you dislike. Take it for what it is, just someone else's opinion, ya know. And again, NOT trying to tell you how to think or what to do, just offering my 2 two cents on the topic. :XD: Keep doing what you're doing! :headbang: It's clearly working! :#1:

Lol, don't worry about that, I'm the same, it's just that your comment kinda reminded me of this little problem so I started rambling about it. :D Definitely wasn't annoyance and I got everything the right way. We artists all experience same problems and there are countless things we could rant to each other and relate, even have lots of fun while doing it depending on what it is. :) That is a good advice, but with years I've learned that not only it's not the smartest thing to do because of the things I mentioned, but also because I can't just ignore the comments and it's just too stressful having to deal with it all while the whole thing could be avoided by writing very little to nothing and short mild version. People like happy artists spreading positivity, saying nice things about their work, not extremely negative, half-perfectionists one's who can nitpick to the smallest flaw and are almost never happy with anything

ONE MORE THING: Another thing Oprah has said that I love. (And I'm paraphrasing here.) "Everyone and everything in life is your teacher. You can learn from even the most mundane, seemingly meaningless, moments, conversations, and people." :meditation:

Hahaha, Pencil artist tend to be perfectionists, so I can relate. But pencil is also unforgiving, as we know very well from experience! I hope you have fun and enjoy the pen as much as you've been enjoying the pencil, my friend :)

Best of luck!
