Going Away Inside by Wicked-Illusion Going Away Inside by Wicked-Illusion
Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as Jamie Lannister from A Song of Ice and Fire series of books by G.R.R. Martin and Game of Thrones, a TV show based on the books.

ACEO (Art Cards, Editions and Originals) - 2.5 x 3.5“ / 63 x 89 mm.

One of the characters I didn't plan to draw any time soon. It was interesting following his character development throughout the books, especially after he got his POV chapters. He's the only character I remember about whom my opinion has drastically changed along the way. Finding out all those things from the past make you see him in different light and understand everything, his actions and also the injustice that's been done to him related to something people don't know the real ugly truth about. Although he will never be forgiven for pushing Bran out of the window, or what he did to Tyrion by not telling the truth about... he's a changed man now and I like the direction he's going and looking forward to seeing what happens with him next.

Started this thing early in May (before Tyrion) and now I'm calling it done, even though it's really not. The scan is just so :puke: again and what you see is not the latest version - did lots of changes/more screw ups after scanning. I'm throwing it in my little metal box of ACEOs - goodbye and hello any new drawing! Maybe Jon and blurry Sam? :D Didn't really think about doing any double portraits, but there is this really nice ref...

I imagined my summer drawing all kinds of different things and trying out some new stuff, but it's seems this is meant to be a GoT ACEO summer and maybe it's even better I don't stop now while the motivation and inspiration lasts plus, because of the heat and all, I'm not too crazy about working on something big.

GoT ACEO collection so far:

Anyway, what a stunning drawing! As always, I'm blown away with the details

Of course you can't. Now. Plus, no one is just good or bad there, no just black or white. Random example: Arya. Everbody loves Arya and would say she's a good character, but: how many people has she killed personally or with "assistance", how many does she hate and wants to kill and just how many she kills over time without justification, because it wasn't self defense nor she stepped in to defend someone else? (throughout the books) See? :D Thanks!

You're very right and you do have a point :#1: There's a plenty of shades of grey. But I haven't read the books yet and somehow, when I see Jamie, I see some rotten version of Prince Charming or Ken  And he f***s his sister, what makes me puke :XD: I'm sure further seasons might change my attitude [or reading the saga may do, too].

Hahah precisely my vision of him before I started reading the books and got to the chapters from his point of view where you find out about everything. Don't have a comment about fu*king, but that won't last forever as many other things because, even though it may not seem so now, he's nothing like his sister. Sure, he's no angel, has his sins to bear, but later after certain experiences he's a changed man who sees an opportunity to open a new, blank page and do things differently from that moment on but it will take couple of years to see that in the show, if they get that far which I hope so!

I'm curious if I am so positive about him as you are, when I read the saga/watch the next seasons in the future ^^ I've just finished watching both seasons for the second time [and got my mum involved which is serious, as she doesn't like ~medieval-like fantasy series/films ] and still dislike him hah.Let's see what happens next.
But there's one more thing I'd like to tell about Arya. She has done some bad things, like "killing with assistance" as you nicely put it in words, but she's just a kid. Smart one, mature for her age, but still a kid. I believe she doesn't realize what homicide really is. You know, some young children kill pets for fun [scary...], and she murders bad people, sometimes in self-defense, so she's more like... our beloved Dexter Morgan :giggle:

Oh, and I read a few things about the further plot. Yay for Joffrey's death [although he should have been killed in other, more cruel way, like decapitation :D], but totally nay for Lady Stark's and Robb's :cries: Mr. Martin, kill Tyrion or Jon Snow and I will eternally despise you :lmao:

OK, I wrote a lot :XD: Sorry for the delay in responding!

Just to warn you, you might be very unpleasantly surprised once you start reading. If you think the things in the show are ugly, wait to see how they're in the books. It's not a reading for too sensitive people who can't take various disgusting and horrible things well. Many shocks await you, especially real/original characters age and how you'll see many things in completely different light/will seem much more horrible because of that, characters being way more beautiful/ugly than you see them in the show, etc. Random example: after the battle Tyrion loses like half of his nose while in the show he gets only a big scar, which doesn't surprise me at all, because of the visuals, complexity and expenses if he was to appear with half a nose in every next episode, pretty sure not that simple to make as man with an amputated arm for example. OK, I scared you enough, but it's very unlikely you'll think any less of the series than just brilliant! Plus, not to mention, in the show you see and find out about less than 50% off all the story, history, details, characters.

Being a kid is not an excuse for an unjustified murder, not to mention she's an apprentice on Braavos, training to become an assassin. Really interesting chapters and interesting stuff related to her training. It's not just killing, but also knowing how to ... and ... and ... like Jaqen H'ghar changing his face for example.

Cat is still here, sorta, you'll see. Tyrion is safe for now, while Jon on the end of the book 5...we'll see. He'll need a miracle and he better gets one! :D

OK, now I stop with specific and non specific spoilers.

Yes, I am aware of all the things you mentioned, as my friend told me more or less. I know the Starks offspring is generally younger than in show [lol, Kit Harington, 25, playing 14. But there were even older actors playing even younger people in other movies/tv-shows :lmao:], I also know about the Tyrion's nose and I think the scriptwriters made a good decision, replacing it with a huge scar. Not because I'm sensitive, but because of the same reasons as yours. However, speaking of more gory/horryfying/etc. things, I am not afraid of them :dummy:

Of course being a kid it's not excuse, I'm not defending her nor thinking she's a little angel, but I wanted to point out she may be not aware in 100% what she is doing. Tough life makes people tougher... and bad. OK, but I should refrain from judging her at all, as I am not so well-acknowledged with books as you [didn't now about the training in Braavos], so I shall shut up :lmao:

I know what you meant by Cat, being "sorta" here. Holy crap, I was like "ewww, what?!" when I discovered it .__.

Anyway, it is really nice to talk to you, but you know too much, and I know too little :giggle:

Then you're ready for reading!

Btw, Arya is one of my top fav characters, in case you made a different impression. We were using her just as an example of, what was it? How no character is just good or bad blahblah.

When you read a book or two, or five, we can talk about anything GoT related if want. My inbox is always opened for that :D

gorgeous pencilwork ! you captured his looks !! your title and description got me thinking again..lol... i'm glad if down the line we get to know more about "Kingslayer" i always thought maybe there was more to him than being mean and nasty.. i also noticed from season 2 he may have a bit more respect for brienne, he seemed to appreciate or was surprised by his facial expressions when she took care of those men when they tried to attack them on their way back to kings landing .

Thank you very much! Well, the TV show watchers will at least see what happens in the future, but probably not much from the past, everything that made him the way he is, how he thinks and how he had to behave in certain situation even though he was against it and although he's not an angel there's much he didn't deserve. Don't wanna send you where you can read actual spoilers, so here's just something little without actual spoilers. "Because he has done reprehensible acts he has such a bad reputation, everything he says is usually cast in the worst possible light. An offhand joke is taken as a grave threat by others, just because it is spoken by the Kingslayer" "Early in life, Jaime comes off as arrogant, amoral, and dishonorable, a code of conduct similar to his sister twin Cersei. However, he is changed by his imprisonment and prolonged exposure to Brienne's stubborn adherence to a code of honour" There is a LOT of interesting stuff to happen along their way, will be interesting to watch. ;)

Almost finished "Game of Thrones" and I love the TV series. I recon you should draw Hodor :) it would be a challenge because he is not a well seen character on the show (but there is a rather compromising scene about 8 episodes in when they're in the forest) :) LOL.

No Seriously Catelyn or Dany with her dragons.

Love your work.
