"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.

i have to ask you a question. you do alot of features have you ever had some one get mad at you for featuring them? of course i have twice and its the weirdest thing i ever experienced...
No. Although, recently one person contacted me if I could remove a work that was stolen from them that I featured which was done immediately of course as I didn't know.
I think you already asked me this. Don't remember what I replied then, but if someone is getting mad simply because they are featured is kinda ridiculous as on dA, I'm speaking only about dA, we feature tumbnails only, small clickable previews of works that lead straight to deviation. It's how dA works, don't upload your work here if you don't want thumbnails of your works on places, it would be silly if you tried to forbid something like that. It's nothing like reposting or reblogging someone's work, or sharing it through share buttons, with or without credits and links back which is other thing you can ask people not to do and hope they will listen (yeah, right, and like you can control it)
A person can be displeased, unhappy in what kind of collection of works their work's been included next and, in that case, they can only ask nicely if their work can be removed from that feature because they really don't want it to be associated with X things, showed next to Y thing.

but that sitting shows a bad character flaw in the person complaining ?? i mean doesnt that just scream "im too good to be feature by you " type of vibe...
Yeah, I'm pretty sure as it's not one of the usual questions. Those reasons I gave are the only reasonable and acceptable reasons for wanting to remove your work from a feature on dA + I'm sure there are some more examples. Anything else is just silly. That type of vibe...it's possible too, I don't think about it.
If you post your art on the web it's only logical and to be expected that sometime somewhere someone will want to feature your work if you're any good.
